Bedale High School is an 11-16 comprehensive, perfectly located between The North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales,National Parks.
Bedale is the ideal destination for residents and visitors as its actual position is right on the edge of the “Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales”. Being in the gateway to Wensleydale, Bedale nestles in some of Yorkshire’s finest scenery as seen with the recent Tour de France.
Bedale itself is a traditional Yorkshire market town mentioned in the Domesday Book. Its Georgian heyday is reflected in the elegant buildings lining the historic market square.
The 12th century church, St Gregory’s, has been named as one of Britain’s best. Today’s Bedale still has a thriving market, unique shops, scenic local walks and attractions for all the family, making it an ideal day out.
Bedale is home to a host of unique shops and public houses, wine bars and the finest restaurants to suit all tastes offering everything from jewellery and antiques to custom-made furniture, women’s fashion, china and gifts.
The local butchers and greengrocers sell a variety of locally grown Yorkshire produce and the weekly market on Tuesdays continues the food theme with the fishmonger, locally grown produce and plant stalls amongst the most popular.
Shoppers of all ages enjoy the Saturday morning car boot sale which brings visitors from far and wide to Bedale Hall between Easter and October.
Next to the Wensleydale Railway Station, the Station yard has been developed in to a centre for small craft workshops and the nationally acclaimed Bedale Bakery …. As featured on tv !!
