Military Kids Club

Bedale High School runs a Military Kids Club for children from forces families and their friends. The Military Kids Club is part of a national initiative and we link into other local groups, meeting up with students in clubs from other schools. The club meets once a week at lunchtime and provides an opportunity for forces children and their friends to socialise and get to know each other. The Club involves many activities including baking, craft making, games and quizzes. We run three trips a year outside school time for members including going to the cinema, visiting local attractions and theme parks.

On a more serious note, students from the Military Kids Club represent Bedale High School at remembrance and commemorative events associated with Remembrance Sunday. Students run the poppy appeal in school, attend an annual commemoration at Ripon Cathedral as well as more local events in Bedale. They have also represented children from service families , speaking at the North of England Conference on Service Children.

Two of our Military Kids Club members have recently become Ambassadors representing the school at a recent student voice conference in Harrogate.
