There are lots of activities to get involved in outside of lesson times. Join in and enjoy music, sport, play games or help save the planet! School is a great place to explore your interests, meet new people and have some fun. Here are just a few of the things:
Come along to one of the many sports clubs run by the PE department. Play football, rugby, cricket, hockey, netball or athletics. Try something new like gymnastics, trampolining or cheerleading. Ask your PE teacher or have a look on the notices in the sportshall or on the notice board in your form room.
See Mrs Pope in Music Room 33 to find out about the various school music groups or about learning to play an instrument. There are many groups that prepare to perform both in and out of school, even abroad! There is also a choir.
Computer club is based in room 12. See Mr Barnes for details.
If you need some support completing your homework or if you need to use a computer and can’t get near one at home come along to homework club and stay ahead of the game. See Mrs Collings in the base for details.
There is a very special team of people in the Base ready to support students in lots of different ways including learning support, lunchtime clubs, and homework clubs. Talk to your Tutor about this.
The Learning Resource Centre
This is much more than a library. It has all sorts of resources to help with your learning including books, computers and magazines. It also provides a quiet environment where you can read and work at lunchtime or breaks. Students help to run the library. If you think you would like to be a helper in the Learning Resource Centre, see Mrs Barclay.
