Small Enough to Know Every Child
With around 550 students, Bedale offers something increasingly distinctive.
We are large enough to provide a broad curriculum and a wide range of experiences, but small enough for students to be genuinely known.
Relationships matter here.
Our staff know our students. They notice when things are going well and when something isn’t quite right. They celebrate success, provide support when it is needed and build the relationships that allow young people to flourish.

Opportunities Beyond the Classroom
Education is about much more than examination results. We want students to discover new interests, develop confidence and create memories that last long after they leave us. Sport, music, drama, trips, visits, leadership, enrichment and extracurricular activities all form an important part of the Bedale experience. We want every student to find something they love, something they can excel at and something that challenges them to try something new.

Our students deserve an environment that reflects our ambitions for them. Since September 2024, we have invested significantly in improving Bedale High School, transforming classrooms, facilities and social spaces across the site. And our ambition goes much further. We are committed to continuing the transformation of our school so that the quality of our facilities matches the quality of education our students receive. Bedale is a school moving forward.

That includes students with SEND, students facing disadvantage, the most academically able and those who sometimes need additional encouragement or support to recognise their own potential.
Our expectations remain high because we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed.

Bedale High School has changed significantly in recent years.
Academic outcomes have risen. Our facilities have improved. Expectations have increased. Our curriculum and wider opportunities continue to develop.

Bedale High School is a high performing coeducational, community school situated on Fitzalan Road, Bedale, North Yorkshire, England.
