Careers Fair (Wednesday 8th March 2023)

We were delighted with the Careers Fair event on Wednesday this week – a key part of our focus throughout Careers Week.

Every year group had a full lesson to spend visiting the different employer stalls set up in the gym. Students completed questionnaires to encourage them to engage with the event, and we had some fantastic feedback about their levels of enthusiasm and interest when we spoke to employers at the end of the day.

Many of businesses brought freebies: pens, stickers, key rings etc to add that extra incentive and there was a very impressive range of businesses and industries to choose from. The Insanity Ink tattoo stall was one of the favourites, and in addition to our established post-16 partners like Northallerton College, QE Sixth Form College, Richmond Sixth Form College, Darlington College, York College and Askham Bryan, students were able to visit a number of other stalls that perhaps they have not had previous experience of: Grantley Hall, Wolsley Apprenticeships, Walter Thompson, Procters Coaches, NHS, Eccles Heddon solicitors, Ripon Grammar School, RAF, ASK, FT Group, Teesside University and GSK.

It was also lovely to see so many parents visiting at the end of the day.
