Supporting Achievement Fund

At Bedale High School we passionately believe in opportunities for all. As a result, in September 2024 we established our ‘Supporting Achievement Fund’.

What assistance can be claimed?

  • Assistance with the cost of trips / visits.
  • Assistance with the cost of required uniform and equipment.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for support from the Supporting Achievement Fund, students must be in year 7 – 11 and be eligible for free school meals.

Consideration will be given where parents / carers experience temporary financial difficulty e.g. recent job loss, bereavement, or other serious unforeseen circumstances.

How do I / we apply?

To request support, the application form below should be completed and returned to Ms McFarlane (Business Manager).

Supporting Achievement Fund applications will be reviewed by Mr Stokes (Headteacher) and Ms McFarlane or another member of the Senior Leadership Team. In deciding the outcome of applications, any previous assistance will be considered, alongside current attendance and behaviour.

It should be noted that there are limited funds available. Applications for smaller amounts are more likely to be successful than those for large amounts.

The decision of the Headteacher and nominated member of the Senior Leadership Team is final.

How are funds paid?

No money will be paid directly to parents / carers, and we are unable to reimburse money already spent. Where an application is successful, the purchase will be made by school and provided to the parent / carer.
